Our eyes are an essential part of our bodies as they help us get about in several ways. For starters, they enable us to see, maintain our balance, and check for several diseases by getting them examined regularly. In the event of illnesses like high blood pressure or diabetes, your eyes will show subtle signs of these conditions. If your optometrist notices them when conducting your routine eye exam, you’ll be able to treat the illness quickly and bring it under control.

However, for an optometrist to detect these slight changes, they need to have sufficient expertise in their profession. Additionally, they need to be conscious of what they are doing to deliver cohesive services, passionate care, and suitable solutions.

At St-Pierre Eye Care, we understand the power of eye exams and make sure to cover all our bases to verify if there are any underlying issues that you need to be aware of. We also offer a broad range of other supporting services to help you improve your vision. To navigate you through our solutions and offerings with ease, here is a detailed handbook to our eye care services.

Comprehensive eye care: We offer complete eye care ranging from pediatric to geriatric (senior) care. Ocular disease management is also a service you can avail of at our clinic as we specialize in the detection and treatment of several eye-related issues.

Contact lens fittings: Whether you are a first-time wearer or a seasoned contact lens veteran, you will definitely benefit from our fitting services. Our experts are experienced and well-versed with different contacts. This enables them to help you find the perfect pair to suit your individual lifestyle and comfort requirements.

Licensed optician consultations: Our optical dispensary on-site is managed by a licensed optician who is ready to help you find the perfect pair of glasses to meet your visual demands and fashion expectations. This professional also caters to adjustments and repairs for your eyewear in case you need them.

Emergency care: Dr. Pambrun is our professional optometrist, he is available in the office five days a week for any emergency care that may be required. That way, you can reach out to us whenever you need our assistance.

Motor vehicle branch testing available: If you’re looking to test your eyes to pass your driver’s exam or meet the Manitoba Public Insurance requirement, we are happy to help. On request, we will offer you a peripheral vision test along with documentation to verify the quality of your vision.

Our advice to clients

1. Make insurance inquiries: We can direct our bills to most major insurance companies, but we do not know what you will be covered for until we actually bill them. It’s a good idea for you to call your insurance company ahead of time to find out what your coverage is. Besides insurance, you can also bring your Manitoba Health Card. Children under nineteen are covered by Manitoba Health, and seniors who are sixty-five and over are partially covered too. The cost for a complete eye exam over the age of sixty-five is $65, and for adults from the ages of nineteen to sixty-four costs about $120.

2. Come prepared: If you currently wear glasses, bring them with you when you come in for your appointment. If you wear contacts, bring pictures of the box with the previous prescription or parameters. A copy of your old prescription would be excellent but isn’t required if you carry your glasses with you. Another essential that you should bring with you is a list of all the medications you are currently taking. We have a patient registration form on our website, which you can fill out before your appointment. The information you provide here will be beneficial while treating you.

3. Wear a mask: Masks are compulsory requirements when visiting our office, you will also be asked to sanitize your hands or wash them with soap and water when you enter. We kindly request you to remove your footwear as well upon entering the clinic for the purpose of cleanliness.
